Week 3: Textures and Shapes in Sketchup Model

Progress Sketchup Model

This context plan I made over the new sandbox I created. I did this to give more context to the site and also to plan my thoughts out plainly.

This model shows the new workshop spaces I created from tutor and peer comments last week; a larger upper workshop, a more definitive showroom space and more context.

The wood boardwalk and stone support structure are from my 36 textures drawn this week. The sandbox topography is a texture I painted with watercolours.

Week 2: Stairs in Sketchup

Sketchup Model of Stairs

Staircase 1 will be connecting the showroom space to the lower workshop space (CJ Hendry). As the descriptive word for this workshop is 'DRIPPING' I designed these stairs accordingly.

Staircase 2 will be connecting the showroom space to the upper workshop space (Gucci). The descriptive word for this workshop is 'OSTENTATIOUS'.

Week 1: Sketchup Progress

Week 1 progress using Sketchup

I started by making my topography using sandbox. The shape of the land is the shape that I drew in my chosen 19th section.

My below ground workshop is in the negative space and covered with a 'lake' that I have yet to develop. I decided to change the upper structure from a triangular shape to a rectangular shape mainly to reduce the scale as the workshop would have to be small to fit.
